Whether you take your vows in the traditional Las Vegas way or wanting to do something a little more different, we've got some ideas and help. So let's get into it...
Plan your Location
There are so many beautiful chapels to choose from in Las Vegas, from drive by chapels to getting married by Elvis, have a think about what you may want that reflects you as a couple. The Venetian offers the chance to exchange your vows on a beautiful gondola as you slowly sail along the man-made river and are serenaded. That's romance at it's finest right?
The Little Vegas Chapel is another popular option amongst couples, it used to a club which was visited by many well known celebrities, and then transformed into a chapel. This venue even offers tux hire, which means you don't have to worry about what you'll be wearing!
Taking your Wedding Dress on a flight
It's always a worry if you plan to elope in Las Vegas and source your bridal gown from your hometown. Fear not, most airlines are really good with this type of thing and let you take your wedding dress onto the plane. You need to contact your airline in advance to do this. Most of the time the air stewardess will take your dress and hang it in first class in a safe place.
Book your Hair & Makeup in advance
Hair & Makeup artists in Las Vegas get booked up super quickly. Do your research if you aren't using a wedding planner. Look up reviews, get recommendations from other couples that have got married there. There might even be a few facebook groups for couples getting married in Las Vegas. Salons located in hotels are a good option to go for, especially if you are staying in that hotel. It's easy to access and your reservation will be set in stone.
Apply for a marriage license in Clark County
You need to have this in order to elope in Las Vegas, you can pick these up from the Las Vegas Marriage License Bureau. You will need to pre-register for a license 60 days before the date you will be due to get married in the state of Nevada. You can turn up on the day, but be prepared for a wait if you plan to do this. Once you receive your licence you will be free to elope in Las Vegas! Remember, you need to use your full names as they appear on your birth certificate and passport.
Ensure you have your relevant Certificates
If you have been previously married, you will need your divorce certificate to be present, you will not be able to elope in Las Vegas without this. Once you get to your hotel, we would always recommend storing important documents in your safe to ensure these do not get lost.
Having a Witness
You will need to have at least one witness present at the marriage ceremony that takes place in Las Vegas. Without this you will not be able to get married. Luckily, most marriage packages offered give the option to have a witness present so you can proceed with your elopement!
